FOPP members work regularly in Princes Park and we are always on the look out for new volunteers.
The Friends of Princes Park work regularly in Princes Park. We do tree work including, planting and coppicing and we also plant bulbs, shrubs and wildflowers.
We have activities such as tree walks, wildlife walks and picnics.
We have planted 3000 trees over the last 10 years increasing the biodiversity and wildlife of the park
The Friends also litter pick on a regular and ad hoc basis.
Our work tends to be at weekends and if you join the FOPP mailing list we will let you know when we are in the Park. This information will also be available on this website and Twitter.
We meet every three months at Crawford House, Upper Warwick Street L8 8DN on the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Our executive committee meets regularly in between.
Minutes of the meetings are available by clicking the minutes button below.
Come and join us at one of our events.
January 2017 Task - Tree maintenance / thinning
A big thank you to all our volunteers who turned out on consecutive Saturdays to do some much needed Tree maintenance. The pictures show the results of our work and below is a summary of jobs done.
Trees needed liberating from protector tubes and weeds. Some work needed to create larger cages for those trees which have outgrown their existing protection. Clearing of tree suckers.
The big task of expanding the protection around the trees nearest to the Sunburst gates was successfully achieved.
We also were treated to some wonderful food, a soup from Ingrid, wonderful quiches and cakes from Susanna, and a luscious lemon drizzle from Marilyn.
